midcode + CursorAvailable

The canvas Cursor doesn’t have.

midcode works next to Cursor on the same project folder. Click any element on the canvas to get its file and line, copy that reference or a full brief into Cursor, and watch the canvas update on every breakpoint as Cursor saves. Cursor’s CLI agent also runs in midcode’s terminal view, with the selection pasted in as context.

01/What you can do

What midcode does with Cursor.

  • A reference for anything you see

Select an element and copy where it’s written: file, line and the components it sits inside. Paste it into Cursor’s chat.

  • Briefs from comments

Pin notes on the canvas as you review. They’re saved in your project’s .midcode folder, where Cursor can read them, and copy out as one brief.

  • Open in Cursor on the line

Set Cursor as your editor and “Open in editor” takes you to the element’s file at its line.

  • Live on every breakpoint

Whatever Cursor saves shows on the canvas at Desktop, Tablet and Phone, because midcode runs your real dev server.

02/How it works

Three steps. No new workflow.

  1. Step 1: Open the same folder

midcode and Cursor both work on your project’s files. There’s nothing to connect.

  2. Step 2: Copy the reference

Click what you want changed, copy its reference or a brief, and give it to Cursor.

  3. Step 3: Finish on the canvas

Adjust the result by hand, then publish.

03/Good to know

The honest part.

What it doesn’t do

  • Cursor doesn’t run inside midcode’s chat: that’s for Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and OpenCode. Cursor runs in the terminal view or in its own window.

04/FAQ

Cursor questions. Short answers.

No, beside it. Cursor writes and refactors code. midcode shows the result on a canvas and lets you change what’s faster to change by eye.

midcode writes only the range you edited and won’t undo into a file that changed since. If Cursor saved the file in between, midcode reads it again first.
